Capital Portfolio Advisors, Inc. is a fiercely independent company.  We are completely independent of the companies that provide investment products or research.  As such, we are free to cherrypick what we feel shines the brightest for you.      

 

If you were driving in the mountains and it started snowing, you might find it prudent to shift gears and proceed at a slower speed until the conditions improve.  That's how we manage our portfolios.  

 

We manage investment portfolios using a flexible style with a long-term view.  An investment's professor might call it "Tactical Asset Allocation."  A client might describe it as changing the make-up of the portfolio in response to changes in the economy or “shifting gears” from time to time. 

 

Our style of "shifting gears" is not as active as day trading, or as drastic as the "all-in-or-all-out" style of market timing.  It generally also creates smaller taxable events than those methods.  On occasion, we may execute some short-term trades if we feel it is warranted but these instances are fairly rare.
